Julia Splendora Lattanze

Julia Splendora Lattanze (nee Cialini), 74, of Towson, MD went to be home with the Lord on November 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lattanze, and two brothers, Joseph, Jr. and Dominic Cialini and special cousin, Florence DelPizzo. She was born in Coatesville, PA on November 2, 1939, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria Cialini. She married David Lattanze on August 29, 1959 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Coatesville, PA.

She is survived by her children: Gregory Lattanze and his wife, Erin of Bristow, VA; Patricia Woodworth and her husband Ben of Bel Air, MD; Teresa Gordon and her husband Carter of Berryville, VA; Barbara Milleson and her husband Michael of Summit Point, WV; 14 grandchildren: Nicholas Lattanze, Thomas Lattanze, Teaghan Lattanze, Meranda Lattanze, Jacob Woodworth , Ian Woodworth, Amanda Gordon, Audrey Lattanze, Sophia Lattanze, Virginia Milleson, Bayne Gordon, David Milleson, Maximilian Lattanze, Josephina Lattanze; her sister, Nancy Pitcherella of Coatesville, PA; many special nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Julie was very active in her community. She was a Board Member of the American Citizens for Italian Matters and a member of The Church of the Immaculate Conception. In 1987 she was the founding benefactor of The David D. Lattanze Center for Executive Study and Information Systems for the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland. And she was a proud member of the Class of 1957 of Scott High School, Coatesville, PA. Her entrepreneurial spirit led to much success in business and educational ventures.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to travel with them and share her Italian heritage. Her hobbies and interests included dancing, gardening, cooking, opera and spending time with her family.

Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Road (Beltway exit 26) on Sunday, November 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 25th at 10 AM at The Church of the Immaculate Conception at 200 Ware Ave in Towson, MD. Interment will be at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Providence Volunteer Fire Company at P.O. Box 9702, Towson, MD 21284 or at www.pvfc29.com.
